दशकोटिसहस्राणि राक्षसां कामरूपिणाम् ।
मांसशोणितभक्षाणां लङ्कापुरनिवासिनाम् ॥६-१९-१५॥
daśakoṭisahasrāṇi rakṣasāṃ kāmarūpiṇām । māṃsaśoṇitabhakṣāṇāṃ laṅkāpuranivāsinām ॥6-19-15॥
Translation
'There are ten thousand crores (innumerable) of Rakshasas residing in Lanka, capable of changing form at will and feeding on flesh and blood.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'लंका पुरी में निवास करने वाले, इच्छाधारी (कामरूपी) और मांस-रक्त भक्षी राक्षसों की संख्या दस हजार करोड़ है।'
English Commentary
Troop Strength. Vibhishana provides the quantitative analysis. The sheer number (ten thousand crores) emphasizes the asymmetrical nature of the conflict. Their ability to shapeshift ('kamarupinam') adds a layer of tactical complexity.

संख्या बल। विभीषण बताते हैं कि लंका में राक्षसों की संख्या 'दस कोटि सहस्राणि' (असंख्य) है। वे 'कामरूपी' (रूप बदलने वाले) और क्रूर ('मांसशोणितभक्षाणां') हैं। यह श्री राम को युद्ध के पैमाने (Scale of war) का आभास कराता है।
