रसातलं वा प्रविशेत् पातालं वापि रावणः ।
पितामहसकाशं वा न मे जीवन् विमोक्ष्यते ॥६-१९-२१॥
ahatvā rāvaṇaṃ saṃkhye saputrabalabāndhavam । ayodhyāṃ na pravekṣyāmi tribhistaibhrātṛbhiḥ śape ॥6-19-21॥
Translation
'I swear by my three brothers that without killing Ravana in battle along with his sons, army, and kinsmen, I shall not enter Ayodhya.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'मैं अपने तीनों भाइयों (लक्ष्मण, भरत, शत्रुघ्न) की शपथ लेता हूँ कि पुत्रों, सेना और बंधुओं सहित रावण को युद्ध में मारे बिना मैं अयोध्या में प्रवेश नहीं करूँगा।'
English Commentary
The Supreme Oath. Shri Rama swears by his brothers, his most cherished bond. He links his return to Ayodhya with the destruction of Ravana. This stakes his entire future and honor on the outcome of this war.
हिंदी टीका
शपथ। श्री राम अपने भाइयों की शपथ लेते हैं, जो उनके लिए सबसे पवित्र है। वे कहते हैं कि रावण वध के बिना वे अयोध्या नहीं लौटेंगे। यह 'करो या मरो' (Do or Die) का संकल्प है।
