Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अनुजो रावणस्याहं तेन चाप्यवमानितः ।
भवन्तं सर्वभूतानां शरण्यं शरणागतः ॥६-१९-४॥
dharmayuktaṃ ca yuktaṃ ca manasaḥ saṃpraharṣaṇam । anujo rāvaṇasyāhaṃ tena cāsmyavamānitaḥ ॥6-19-4॥
Translation
He spoke words that were righteous, appropriate, and pleasing to the mind: 'I am the younger brother of Ravana, and I have been insulted by him.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
(विभीषण ने) धर्मयुक्त, उचित और मन को प्रसन्न करने वाले वचन कहे—'मैं रावण का छोटा भाई हूँ और उसके द्वारा अपमानित (अवमानित) किया गया हूँ।'
English Commentary
Vibhishana introduces himself with candor. His speech is 'dharmayuktam' (righteous) because it is truthful. He acknowledges his lineage as Ravana's brother but immediately clarifies the context of his arrival: he is a victim of Ravana's insult ('avamanita'), seeking justice and shelter.

विभीषण अपनी पृष्ठभूमि और पीड़ा को स्पष्टता से रखते हैं। उनके वचन 'धर्मयुक्त' हैं क्योंकि वे सत्य बोल रहे हैं। वे स्वीकार करते हैं कि वे रावण के भाई हैं, लेकिन साथ ही यह भी बताते हैं कि उन्हें 'अवमानित' (अपमानित) किया गया है, जो उनके आने का मुख्य कारण है।
