वायम् दूतो महाप्राज्ञ चारकः प्रतिभाति मे ।
तुलितम् हि बलम् सर्वमनेन तव तिष्ठता ॥६-२०-३१॥
tulitaṃ hi balaṃ sarvamanenātraiva tiṣṭhatā । gṛhyatāṃ mā gamallaṅkāmetaddhi mama rocate ॥6-20-31॥
Translation
'For all our strength has been estimated by him just standing here. Let him be seized; let him not go to Lanka. This indeed pleases me.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'इसने यहाँ खड़े-खड़े ही हमारी पूरी सेना (बल) को तौल (नाप) लिया है। इसे पकड़ लिया जाए, यह लंका वापस न जाने पाए। मुझे यही उचित लगता है।'
English Commentary
Operational Security. Angada argues that Shuka has gathered intelligence ('tulitam balam'). Letting him return would compromise their position. He advises detaining him to block the flow of information to Ravana.

गिरफ्तारी का सुझाव। अंगद कहते हैं कि शुक ने हमारी सेना का डेटा ('तुलितं बलं') ले लिया है। अगर यह वापस गया, तो रावण को हमारी व्यूह रचना पता चल जाएगी। इसलिए इसे कैद कर लेना चाहिए।
