चापम् आनय सौमित्रे शरामः च आशी विष उपमान् ।
समुद्रम् शोषयिष्यामि पद्भ्याम् यान्तु प्लवङ्गमाः ॥६-२१-२२॥
cāpamānaya saumitre śarāṃścāśīviṣopamān । samudraṃ śoṣayiṣyāmi padbhyāṃ yāntu plavaṅgamāḥ ॥6-21-22॥
Translation
'Bring the bow, O Sumitra's son, and arrows like venomous snakes. I will dry up the ocean; let the monkeys go on foot.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'हे सौमित्र! धनुष लाओ और विषधर सांपों के समान बाण लाओ। मैं समुद्र को सुखा दूँगा; वानर (सूखी जमीन पर) पैरों से चलकर जाएँ।'
English Commentary
The Tactical Shift. Shri Rama orders his weapon brought. His plan changes from crossing the water to removing the water entirely so the army can march on the seabed. It shows his determination to alter nature itself if it stands in his way.
हिंदी टीका
धनुष की मांग। श्री राम लक्ष्मण से हथियार मांगते हैं। उनका उद्देश्य स्पष्ट है: समुद्र सुखाकर वानरों को 'पैदल' ('पद्भ्यां') लंका ले जाना। यह एक असंभव कार्य को संभव करने का संकल्प है।
