महाऊर्मि माला विततः शन्ख शुक्ति समाकुलः ।
सधूम परिवृत्त ऊर्मिः सहसा अभून् महाउदधिः ॥६-२१-२९॥
mahormimālā vitataḥ śaṅkhaśuktisamāvṛtaḥ । sadhūmaḥ parivṛttormiḥ sahasāsīnmahodadhiḥ ॥6-21-29॥
Translation
The great ocean suddenly became covered with garlands of huge waves, filled with conches and shells, smoky, and with swirling waves.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह महासागर विशाल लहरों की माला से व्याप्त हो गया, शंख और सीपियों से घिर गया और सहसा धुएँ से युक्त (सधूम) होकर उथल-पुथल हो गया।
English Commentary
Boiling Point. The ocean begins to emit smoke ('sadhuma'), indicating the heat of Shri Rama's arrows is boiling the water. The sea is churned up, exposing shells and conches from the depths.

वाष्पीकरण। समुद्र में 'धुआँ' (सधूमः) उठ रहा है, जो बाणों की गर्मी से पानी के भाप बनने का संकेत है। लहरें अनियंत्रित हो गई हैं।
