शरनिर्द्धधतोयस्य परिशुष्कस्य सागर ।
मया शोषितसत्त्वस्य पांसुरुत्पद्यते महान् ॥६-२२-२॥
śaranirddhadhatoyasya pariśuṣkasya sāgara |
mayā śoṣitasattvasya pāṃsurutpadyate mahān ॥6-22-2॥
Translation
'O Ocean, when your waters are burnt away by my arrows and you are utterly dried up, with all your aquatic creatures destroyed, a great cloud of dust shall rise from you.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे सागर! मेरे बाणों से तुम्हारा जल जलकर भस्म हो जाएगा, तुम पूरी तरह सूख जाओगे और तुम्हारे जलचर नष्ट हो जाएँगे; तब यहाँ (जल के स्थान पर) केवल महान धूल ही उड़ती दिखाई देगी।
English Commentary
Shri Rama's threat visualizes an ecological cataclysm. The imagery of 'great dust' rising from what was once an abyssal ocean underscores the potency of the celestial weapons (astras) at his command. It signifies total annihilation, not just suppression. Philosophically, it shows that the Lord, who sustains the universe (Vishnu tattva), also holds the power of dissolution (Pralaya) when the natural order obstructs Dharma.

श्री राम की चेतावनी यहाँ अत्यंत भयानक है। वे न केवल जल को सुखाने की बात कर रहे हैं, बल्कि सागर के अस्तित्व को मरुस्थल में बदलने की बात कर रहे हैं। 'पांसुरुत्पद्यते महान्' (महान धूल उड़ेगी) यह दर्शाता है कि असीम जलराशि का स्थान शुष्कता ले लेगी। यह श्री राम के उस बाण (आग्नेयास्त्र या ब्रह्मास्त्र) की शक्ति का परिचय है जो प्रकृति के मूलभूत तत्वों (पंचमहाभूतों) को भी बदलने की क्षमता रखता है।
