अब्रवीत्प्राञ्जलिर्वाक्यं राघवं शरपाणिनम् ।
पृथिवी वायुराकाशमापो ज्योतिश्च राघव ॥६-२२-२५॥
abravītprāñjalirvākyaṃ rāghavaṃ śarapāṇinam |
pṛthivī vāyurākāśamāpo jyotiśca rāghava ॥6-22-25॥
Translation
With joined palms, he spoke these words to Raghava, who held an arrow in his hand: 'O Raghava! Earth, Wind, Ether, Water, and Light...'
हिंदी अनुवाद
हाथ जोड़े हुए सागर ने हाथ में बाण लिए हुए राघव से यह वचन कहा—'हे राघव! पृथ्वी, वायु, आकाश, जल और तेज (अग्नि)...'
English Commentary
The juxtaposition of folded hands (devotion/surrender) and the arrow in hand (power/threat) is iconic. The Ocean begins a philosophical discourse on the nature of reality, citing the Pancha Mahabhutas. He is appealing to Shri Rama's wisdom as the upholder of cosmic laws.
