Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
ग्राहा न प्रहरिष्यन्ति यावत्सेना तरिष्यति ।
हरीणां तरणे राम करिष्यामि यथा स्थलम् ॥६-२२-२९॥
grāhā na prahariṣyanti yāvatsenā tariṣyati |
harīṇāṃ taraṇe rāma kariṣyāmi yathā sthalam ॥6-22-29॥
Translation
'The predators shall not attack as long as the army crosses. O Shri Rama, for the crossing of the monkeys, I shall make it (the passage) act like solid ground.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'हे श्री राम! जब तक सेना पार उतरेगी, ग्राह (जलचर) आक्रमण नहीं करेंगे। वानरों के पार जाने के लिए मैं (जल के ऊपर ही) स्थल (जमीन) जैसा मार्ग बना दूँगा/आचरण करूँगा।'
English Commentary
This is the active assistance promised. Suspending the predatory nature of his inhabitants and the sinking nature of water ensures safe passage. He promises to behave 'like land' (yatha sthalam), effectively bridging the gap between fluid and solid elements.
हिंदी टीका
सागर दो वचन देते हैं: १. सुरक्षा (जलचर हमला नहीं करेंगे), २. सुगमता (सेतु को डूबने नहीं देंगे)। यह श्री राम के प्रति उनकी भक्ति और सहयोग का प्रमाण है। वे श्री राम के कार्य में भागीदार बन रहे हैं।
