ननाद च तदा वसुधा शल्यपीडिता ।
तस्माद्व्रणमुखात्तोयमुत्पपात रसातलात् ॥६-२२-३७॥
nanāda ca tadā vasudhā śalyapīḍitā |
tasmādvraṇamukhāttoyamutpapāta rasātalāt ॥6-22-37॥
Translation
The earth cried out in pain, pierced by the arrow. From the mouth of that wound, water gushed up from the netherworld (Rasatala).
हिंदी अनुवाद
बाण (शल्य) की पीड़ा से धरती चिल्ला उठी। उस (बाण से बने) घाव के मुख से रसातल का जल ऊपर फूट पड़ा।
English Commentary
The violence of the impact is palpable—the earth screams. However, piercing the earth connects the surface to the subterranean waters (Rasatala), creating a geyser or a permanent wellspring.
हिंदी टीका
धरती को बाण लगने से पीड़ा हुई। किन्तु, उस आघात से भूमिगत जल (Artisan well) का स्रोत फूट पड़ा। यह विनाश में सृजन का संकेत है।
