स बभूव तदा कूपो व्रण इत्यभिविश्रुतः ।
सततं चोत्थितं तोयं समुद्रस्येव दृश्यते ॥६-२२-३८॥
sa babhūva tadā kūpo vraṇa ityabhiviśrutaḥ |
satataṃ cotthitaṃ toyaṃ samudrasyeva dṛśyate ॥6-22-38॥
Translation
That became a well famously known as 'Vrana' (The Wound). The water continuously rising from it is seen to be like that of the ocean.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह 'व्रण' (घाव) नाम से विख्यात एक कुआं बन गया। उसमें से निरंतर निकलता हुआ जल समुद्र के जल जैसा ही दिखाई देता है।
English Commentary
The naming of the well as 'Vrana' solidifies the event in cultural memory. It suggests that even the earth carries the scars of divine intervention.

उस स्थान का नाम 'व्रणकूप' पड़ा। यह श्री राम की शक्ति का एक स्थाई स्मारक बन गया।
