विशालः सुकृतः श्रीमान् सुभूमिः सुसमाहितः ।
अशोभत महासेतुः सीमन्त इव सागरे ॥६-२२-८०॥
viśālaḥ sukṛtaḥ śrīmān subhūmiḥ susamāhitaḥ |
aśobhata mahāsetuḥ sīmanta ivā sāgare ॥6-22-80॥
Translation
That vast, well-made, glorious, level-grounded, and well-joined great bridge looked beautiful in the ocean like the parting line (simanta) in the hair.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह विशाल, सुनिर्मित, सुंदर, अच्छी जमीन (सतह) वाला और अच्छी तरह से जुड़ा हुआ महासेतु सागर में (नारी की) मांग (सीमंत) के समान शोभित हो रहा था।
English Commentary
The metaphor of the 'Simanta' (parting of hair) is exquisite. It suggests that the bridge divided the ocean neatly and added beauty to it, rather than just being a block.

सुंदर उपमा: सागर रूपी नीले बालों में सेतु एक 'मांग' (hair parting) की तरह लग रहा था। यह निर्माण की सुंदरता और पूर्णता ('सुसमाहित') को दर्शाता है।
