Srimad Valmiki Ramayana - Yuddha Kanda - Sarga 22

ततः पारे समुद्रस्य गदापाणिर्विभीषणः ।
परेषामभिघातार्थमतिष्ठत् सचिवैः सह ॥६-२२-८१॥

tataḥ pāre samudrasya gadāpāṇirvibhīṣaṇaḥ |
pareṣāmabhighātārthamatiṣṭhat sacivaiḥ saha ॥6-22-81॥

Translation

Then, on the other shore of the ocean, Vibhishana, mace in hand, stood with his ministers to strike at enemies (if they attacked the bridgehead).

हिंदी अनुवाद

तब समुद्र के उस पार (लंका तट पर) गदाधारी विभीषण शत्रुओं के आक्रमण को रोकने के लिए अपने मंत्रियों के साथ खड़े हो गए।

English Commentary

Strategic warfare: Vibhishana secures the landing zone. As the insider ally, he protects the vulnerable point where the army disembarks.

विभीषण ने अपनी जिम्मेदारी निभाई। वे 'ब्रिजहेड' (Bridgehead) की रक्षा कर रहे थे ताकि उतरने वाली सेना पर राक्षस हमला न कर दें।
