Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
रजसा महता चापि नक्षत्राणि हतानि च ।
युगान्तमिव लोकानाम् पश्य शसन्ति लक्ष्मण ॥६-२३-१०॥
rajasā mahatā cāpi nakṣatrāṇi hatāni ca |
yugāntamiva lokānāṃ paśya śaṃsanti lakṣmaṇa ॥6-23-10॥
Translation
'The stars are obscured by massive dust and have lost their luster. O Lakshmana, behold, they foretell the end of the eon (Yuganta) for the worlds.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'नक्षत्र भारी धूल से ढके हुए और प्रभाहीन (हत) हो गए हैं। हे लक्ष्मण! देखो, वे लोकों के युगान्त (प्रलय) की सूचना दे रहे हैं।'
English Commentary
The stars losing their brilliance suggests that destiny itself is clouded or obscured by the rising dust of war. Comparing the situation to Yuganta (the end of the world/age) emphasizes that the impending battle will be of apocalyptic proportions, changing the course of history.

तारों का धूल में छिप जाना या चमक खो देना ब्रह्मांडीय व्यवस्था में गड़बड़ी का संकेत है। 'युगान्त' (युग का अंत) शब्द का प्रयोग युद्ध की भीषणता को बताने के लिए किया गया है। यह त्रेता युग के एक प्रमुख अध्याय के समापन का समय है।
