ह्रस्वो रूक्षोऽप्रशस्तश्च परिवेषस्तु लोहितः ।
आदित्ये विमले वीलम् लक्ष्म लक्ष्मण दृश्यते ॥६-२३-९॥
hrasvo rūkṣo'praśastaśca pariveśaḥ sulohitaḥ |
āditye vimale nīlaṃ lakṣma lakṣmaṇa dṛśyate ॥6-23-9॥
Translation
'The halo around the sun is short, rough, inauspicious, and blood-red. O Lakshmana, a blue mark/spot is visible even on the clear sun.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'सूर्य का घेरा (परिवेश) छोटा, रूखा, अशुभ और लाल रंग का है। हे लक्ष्मण! निर्मल सूर्य में भी नीला धब्बा (चिह्न) दिखाई दे रहा है।'
English Commentary
A blue mark on the solar disc is a specific omen foretelling the fall of a great leader. The rough, red solar halo signifies anger and bloodshed. Shri Rama points out these specific astronomical details to confirm that the time is ripe for the destruction of evil.

सूर्य पर 'नीला चिह्न' (कबंध या धब्बा) दिखाई देना शासकों के लिए विनाशकारी माना जाता है। लाल परिवेश (Halo) युद्ध का संकेत है। श्री राम लक्ष्मण का ध्यान इन खगोलीय घटनाओं की ओर आकर्षित कर रहे हैं जो रावण के पतन का संकेत दे रही हैं।
