ततः स भयसंभ्रान्तस्तथा राज्ञाभिचोदितः ।
वचनं प्रत्युवाचेदं राक्षसाधिपमुत्तमम् ॥६-२४-२७॥
tataḥ sa bhayasaṃbhrāntastathā rājñābhicoditaḥ |
vacanaṃ pratyuvācedaṃ rākṣasādhipamuttamam ॥6-24-27॥
Translation
Then, agitated by fear and prompted by the King, Shuka spoke these excellent words to the Lord of Rakshasas.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब उस (वानरों के) भय से घबराए हुए और राजा द्वारा पूछे गए शुक ने राक्षसराज (रावण) से यह उत्तम वचन कहा।
English Commentary
Shuka speaks 'excellent words', meaning he speaks the truth. Despite his fear, he chooses honesty over flattery, fulfilling his duty as an intelligence officer.
हिंदी टीका
शुक 'उत्तम वचन' बोलता है, अर्थात वह सत्य बोलता है। चाटुकारिता के बजाय वह यथार्थ बताता है, जो एक अच्छे दूत/गुप्तचर का धर्म है।
