यदि मां प्रति युध्येरन् देवगन्धर्वदानवाः ।
नैव सीतां प्रयच्छामि सर्वलोकभयादपि ॥६-२४-३९॥
yadi māṃ prati yudhyeran devagandharvadānavāḥ |
naiva sītāṃ prayacchāmi sarvalokabhayādapi ॥6-24-39॥
Translation
'Even if the gods, Gandharvas, and Danavas were to fight against me, and even out of fear of all the worlds, I will not give up Sita.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'यदि मेरे विरुद्ध देवता, गंधर्व और दानव भी युद्ध करें, और समस्त लोकों का भय भी उपस्थित हो जाए, तो भी मैं सीता को नहीं दूंगा।'
English Commentary
This is Ravana's hubris. It's not bravery, but stubbornness born of ego. He is willing to fight the entire universe rather than admit a mistake. This marks the point of no return for him.
हिंदी टीका
यह रावण का 'हठ' (Obstinacy) है। यह वीरता नहीं, बल्कि विनाशकाले विपरीत बुद्धि है। वह सारे ब्रह्मांड से लड़ने को तैयार है, लेकिन अपनी गलती सुधारने को नहीं। यह 'अहंकार' (Ego) की पराकाष्ठा है।
