न जानाति पुरा वीर्यं मम युद्धे स राघवः ।
मम चापमयी वीणा शरकोणैः प्रवादिताम् ॥६-२४-४५॥
na jānāti purā vīryaṃ mama yuddhe sa rāghavaḥ |
mama cāpamayī vīṇā śarakoṇaiḥ pravāditām ॥6-24-45॥
Translation
'That Raghava does not know my prowess in battle from before. My bow is the Veena (lute), played with arrows as the striker...'

'वह राघव पहले (कभी) युद्ध में मेरे वीर्य (पराक्रम) को नहीं जानता। (मैं युद्ध में) अपने धनुष रूपी वीणा को बाण रूपी कोण (गज/Strikers) से बजाऊंगा...'
English Commentary
Ravana begins a terrifying metaphor here: 'War as Music'. He explicitly compares his bow to a Veena (lute) and his arrows to the plectrum/striker. This highlights his arrogance and his artistic yet cruel approach to warfare. He believes Shri Rama is unprepared for his deadly 'performance'.

यहाँ रावण एक भयानक रूपक (Metaphor) का आरंभ करता है—'युद्ध संगीत के समान है'। वह अपने धनुष को 'वीणा' कहता है। यह उसके अहंकार और युद्ध के प्रति उसके कलात्मक (किन्तु क्रूर) दृष्टिकोण को दर्शाता है। वह मानता है कि श्री राम उसके 'संगीत' के सामने नहीं टिक पाएंगे।
