सा वीरसमिती राज्ञा विरराज व्यवस्थिता ।
शशिना शुभिनक्षत्रा पौर्णमासीव शारदी ॥६-२५-१॥

Translation
When Shri Rama, the son of Dasharatha, along with his army, had crossed the ocean, the prosperous Ravana spoke to his two ministers, Shuka and Sarana.

जब सेना सहित दशरथनंदन श्री राम सागर पार कर गए, तब ऐश्वर्यशाली रावण ने अपने दो मंत्रियों, 'शुक' और 'सारण', से कहा।

श्री राम की सेना के सागर पार करने की खबर ने रावण को चिंतित कर दिया है। 'श्रीमान' विशेषण रावण के बाह्य वैभव को दर्शाता है, जो उसके आंतरिक भय के विपरीत है। वह अब अपनी खुफिया तंत्र (Intelligence network) को सक्रिय कर रहा है, जो किसी भी राजा के लिए संकटकाल में पहला कदम होता है।
