दृष्ट्वा दाशरथिर्लङ्काम् चित्रध्वजपताकिनिम्म् ।
जगाम मनसा सीताम् दूयमानेन चेतसा ॥६-२५-६॥
sa ca seturyathā baddhaḥ sāgare salilāśaye |
niveśaṃ ca yathā teṣāṃ vānarāṇāṃ mahātmanām ॥6-25-6॥
Translation
'And find out how that bridge was built over the watery ocean, and how the encampment of those high-souled monkeys is arranged.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'और वह सेतु सागर (जलाशय) पर कैसे बांधा गया? तथा उन महात्मा वानरों का पड़ाव (शिविर) किस प्रकार (कहाँ और कैसा) है?'
English Commentary
Ravana is curious about the engineering ('how it was built') possibly to find weaknesses. Knowing the layout of the camp (nivesham) is vital for planning surprise attacks or night raids. He is looking for tactical vulnerabilities.

रावण सेतु निर्माण की तकनीक (Technology) जानना चाहता है, शायद उसे तोड़ने के लिए। साथ ही, सेना के पड़ाव (Encampment) की व्यवस्था जानना 'नाइट रेड' (Night raid) या आश्चर्यजनक हमले की योजना बनाने के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है।
