य एनम् अनुगच्चन्ति वीराः चन्दन वासिनः ।
एष आशम्सते लंकाम् स्वेन अनीकेन मर्दितुम् ॥६-२६-२४॥
ya enamanugacchanti vīrāścaṇḍanavāsinaḥ |
eṣaivāśaṃsate laṅkāṃ svenānīkena marditum ॥6-26-24॥
Translation
'These heroes dwelling in sandalwood forests follow him (Nala). He hopes to crush Lanka with his own army.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'ये चंदन वनों में रहने वाले वीर (नल) का अनुगमन करते हैं। यह (नल) अपनी सेना के साथ लंका को कुचलने की आशा रखता है।'
English Commentary
Nala's ambition is to crush Lanka single-handedly with his division. The mention of 'sandalwood forests' suggests the specific geographical origin of his troops, adding realism to the narrative.
