Srimad Valmiki Ramayana - Yuddha Kanda - Sarga 26

राजन् सततम् अध्यास्ते शरभो नाम यूथपः ।
एतस्य बलिनः सर्वे विहारा नाम यूथपाः ॥६-२६-३७॥

rājan satatamadhyāste śarabho nāma yūthapaḥ |
etasya balinaḥ sarve vihāro nāma yūthapāḥ ॥6-26-37॥

Translation

'O King! The commander named Sharabha always dwells there. The commanders named Vihara (and others) belong to this mighty one.'

हिंदी अनुवाद

'हे राजन्! वह 'शरभ' नामक यूथपति सदा वहां निवास करता है। 'विहार' नामक यूथपति (और अन्य) इस बलि के (अधीन/साथी) हैं।'

English Commentary

Identification of Sharabha. He commands sub-commanders like Vihara. This hierarchical structure shows the depth of the Vanara military organization.

शरभ की पहचान। 'विहार' यहाँ या तो एक उप-सेनापति का नाम है या एक समूह का। शरभ एक महत्वपूर्ण कमांडर है।
