ऋक्षवन्तं गिरिश्रेष्ठमध्यास्ते नर्मदां पिबन् ।
सर्वेषामधिपतिर्धूम्रो नामैष यूथपः ॥६-२७-१०॥
ṛkṣavantaṃ giriśreṣṭhamadhyāste narmadāṃ piban |
sarveṣāmadhipatirdhūmro nāmaiṣa yūthapaḥ ॥6-27-10॥
Translation
'...who dwells on the excellent Rikshavan mountain, drinking from the Narmada river. This commander named Dhumra is the lord of all (bears).'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'...जो नर्मदा नदी का जल पीता हुआ श्रेष्ठ ऋक्षवान पर्वत पर निवास करता है। यह सभी (रीछों) का अधिपति 'धूम्र' नामक यूथपति है।'
English Commentary
Dhumra's geographical origin is established—the Narmada river and Rikshavan (Satpura) mountains. Being the 'Lord of All' (Sarveshamadhipatih) confirms his status as the General of the Bear Army.
