सर्वे वैश्वानरसमा ज्वलिताशीविषोपमाः ।
सुदीर्घाश्चिन्त्रलाङ्गुला मत्तमातङ्गसंनिभाः ॥६-२७-४२॥
sarve vaiśvānarasamā jvalitāśīviṣopamāḥ |
sudīrghāścintralāṅgulā mattamātaṅgasaṃnibhāḥ ॥6-27-42॥
Translation
'All (Kesari's troops) are like fire and resemble blazing poisonous snakes. They have very long and colorful tails and resemble intoxicated elephants.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'ये सब (केसरी के सैनिक) अग्नि के समान (तेजस्वी) और जहरीले सांपों के समान (भयानक) हैं। इनकी लंबी और विचित्र (रंग-बिरंगी) पूंछें हैं और ये मदमस्त हाथियों के समान (विशाल/बलवान) हैं।'
English Commentary
A terrifying description of Kesari's troops. They possess the destructive nature of fire, the lethality of venomous snakes, and the brute strength of elephants. Their 'colorful tails' (chitralangula) serve as a unique visual identifier on the battlefield.
