असिताञ्जनसंकाशान् युद्धे सत्यपराक्रमान् ।
असंख्येयाननिर्देश्यान् परं पारमिवोदधेः ॥६-२७-७॥
asitāñjanasaṃkāśān yuddhe satyaparākramān |
asaṃkhyeyānanirdeśyān paraṃ pāramivodadheḥ ॥6-27-7॥
Translation
'Who resemble black collyrium, whose valor in battle is true/unfailing, who are innumerable and indefinable like the other shore of the ocean.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'जो काले अंजन (काजल) के समान (काले) हैं, युद्ध में जिनका पराक्रम सत्य (अमोघ) है, जो असंख्य हैं और जिनका निर्देश (गिनती) नहीं किया जा सकता, जैसे समुद्र के दूसरे किनारे का।'
English Commentary
These specific troops are dark as collyrium. 'Satyaparakrama' means their valor is unfailing or 'true'. Comparing their numbers to the 'undefined other shore of the ocean' emphasizes that they are limitless and overwhelming.
