ज्येष्ठः केसरिणः पुत्रो वातात्मज इति श्रुतः ।
हनुमानिति विख्यातो लङ्घितो येन सागरः ॥६-२८-१०॥
jyeṣṭhaḥ kesariṇaḥ putro vātātmaja iti śrutaḥ |
hanumāniti vikhyāto laṅghito yena sāgaraḥ ॥6-28-10॥
Translation
He is the eldest son of Kesari and is known as the son of the Wind God. He is famous by the name Hanuman, by whom the ocean was crossed.
हिंदी अनुवाद
यह केसरी के ज्येष्ठ पुत्र हैं और वायुदेव के औरस पुत्र माने जाते हैं। इनका नाम 'हनुमान' प्रसिद्ध है और इन्होने ही समुद्र का उल्लंघन (लांघना) किया था।
English Commentary
This verse provides Hanuman's lineage and his defining achievement. Being the son of Vayu explains his supernatural speed and strength. The crossing of the ocean is cited as his signature feat, an act recognized with awe even by the adversary.

यहाँ हनुमान जी की वंशावली और उनकी सबसे बड़ी उपलब्धि का वर्णन है। वायुपुत्र होने के कारण उनमें पिता के समान गति और बल है। 'सागर लंघन' उनकी अद्वितीय कीर्ति है, जिसे शत्रु पक्ष भी विस्मय और सम्मान के साथ स्वीकार करता है।
