एष आशंसते लङ्कामेको मर्दितुमोजसा ।
येन जाज्वल्यते सौम्य धूमकेतुस्तवाद्य वै ॥६-२८-१७॥
eṣa āśaṃsate laṅkāmeko marditumojasā |
yena jājvalyate saumya dhūmaketustavādya vai ॥6-28-17॥
Translation
He hopes to crush Lanka alone with his might. O Gentle One! It was he who indeed ignited the fire in your Lanka before.
हिंदी अनुवाद
यह अकेला ही अपने ओज से लंका को कुचलने की आशा रखता है। हे सौम्य (रावण)! इसी ने पहले लंका में वह अग्नि (धूमकेतु) प्रज्वलित की थी।
English Commentary
Hanuman is portrayed as a solitary force of destruction. Reminding Ravana of the 'fire' (dhumaketu) reinforces the trauma of the burning of Lanka. It serves as a stern warning that the one who ignited the city once is now back to pulverize it completely.
हिंदी टीका
हनुमान जी 'एकाकी सेना' (Solitary Army) हैं। शुक रावण को 'धूमकेतु' (अग्नि) शब्द का प्रयोग करके लंका दहन की विनाशकारी घटना की याद दिलाता है। यह चेतावनी है कि जो पहले जला सकता है, वह अब पूरी तरह नष्ट भी कर सकता है।
