स्थितान् पश्यसि यानेतान् मत्तानिव महाद्विपान् ।
न्यग्रोधानिव गाङ्गेयान् सालान् हैमवतानिव ॥६-२८-२॥
sthitān paśyasi yānetān mattāniva mahādvipān |
nyagrodhāniva gāṅgeyān sālān haimavatāniva ॥6-28-2॥
Translation
O King! Those whom you see standing like intoxicated great elephants, like Banyan trees on the banks of the Ganges, and like Sal trees of the Himalayas (are the Vanara heroes).
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे राजन्! आप जिन्हें मदमस्त विशाल हाथियों के समान, गंगा तट के वटवृक्षों के समान और हिमालय के साल के वृक्षों के समान खड़ा देख रहे हैं (वे वानर वीर हैं)।
English Commentary
The poet employs majestic similes from nature to depict the physical attributes of the Vanara army. Comparing them to rutting elephants suggests uncontrollable power; likening them to Banyan trees along the Ganges implies vastness and stability; and the reference to Himalayan Sal trees highlights their imposing height and sturdiness.
