English Commentary
This verse continues the narrative where the spies Shuka and Sarana are reporting back to Ravana after surveying the Vanara army. Shuka identifies the key warriors. Describing Lakshmana as the 'right arm of Shri Rama' (bhujam ramasya dakshinam) is metaphorically profound. It implies that Lakshmana is the executive force and primary protector of Shri Rama. Just as the right arm is essential for action and defense, Lakshmana is the instrument through whom Shri Rama's will is often executed in battle. This epithet highlights both his immense strength and his inseparable reliance on his brother.
