ततश्चाराः सत्वरिताः प्राप्ताः पार्थिवशासनात् ।
उपस्थिताः प्राञ्जलयो वर्धयित्वा जयाशिषा ॥६-२९-१८॥
tataścārāḥ satvaritāḥ prāptāḥ pārthivaśāsanāt |
upasthitāḥ prāñjalayo vardhayitvā jayāśiṣā ॥6-29-18॥
Translation
Then, by the King's command, the spies arrived with great speed. Encouraging the King with blessings of victory, they stood with joined palms.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तदनन्तर, राजा की आज्ञा से वे गुप्तचर बड़ी शीघ्रता से वहाँ आ पहुँचे और 'जय' के आशीर्वाद से राजा का अभिनन्दन करके हाथ जोड़े हुए उपस्थित हो गए।
English Commentary
The response is immediate ('satvaritah'). The spies arrive and perform the customary salutations with joined palms ('pranjalaya') and chants of victory. In the looming shadow of war, these rituals of loyalty become even more critical to reassure the anxious King. The machinery of Lanka's intelligence is shown to be efficient and disciplined, despite the leader's erratic behavior.
हिंदी टीका
नया गुप्तचर दल 'सत्वरिताः' (अत्यंत शीघ्रता से) आता है। रावण का भय इतना है कि विलंब का कोई स्थान नहीं है। वे 'प्राञ्जलयो' (हाथ जोड़े हुए) और 'जयाशिषा' (जय के आशीर्वाद) के साथ प्रस्तुत होते हैं। यह एक मानक दरबारी शिष्टाचार है, लेकिन लंका के तनावपूर्ण वातावरण में यह 'जय' का उद्घोष रावण के क्षतिग्रस्त अहंकार को तुष्ट करने के लिए अनिवार्य है।
