चारास्तु ते तथेत्युक्त्वा प्रहृष्टा राक्षसेश्वरम् ।
शार्दूलमग्रतः कृत्वा ततश्चक्रुः प्रदक्षिणम् ॥६-२९-२३॥
cārāstu te tathetyuktvā prahṛṣṭā rākṣaseśvaram |
śārdūlamagrataḥ kṛtvā tataścakruḥ pradakṣiṇam ॥6-29-23॥
Translation
Those spies, saying 'So be it', were delighted. Placing Shardula at their head, they then circumambulated the Lord of Rakshasas.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब वे गुप्तचर 'तथास्तु' (ऐसा ही हो) कहकर प्रसन्न हुए और शार्दूल को आगे करके उन्होंने राक्षसेश्वर रावण की परिक्रमा की।
English Commentary
The leader of this spy unit is identified as Shardula. Their delight ('prahrishta') suggests eagerness to serve and confidence in their mission. They perform 'pradakshinam' (circumambulation) around Ravana, a mark of deep reverence. Placing Shardula in front indicates command structure. Unlike the previous spies who left in shame, these leave with high morale.

गुप्तचरों के नेता का नाम 'शार्दूल' है। वे 'प्रहृष्टा' (प्रसन्न) हैं, जो उनके उत्साह और रावण के प्रति भक्ति को दर्शाता है। 'प्रदक्षिणम्' (परिक्रमा) करना राजा के प्रति सम्मान प्रदर्शित करने की वैदिक और सांस्कृतिक विधि है। शार्दूल को 'अग्रतः कृत्वा' (आगे करके) वे एक अनुशासित दल की तरह प्रस्थान करते हैं।
