प्रहृष्टा मुदिता लंका मत्त द्विप समाकुला ।
महती रथ सम्पूर्णा रक्षो गण समाकुला ॥६-३-१०॥
hṛṣṭā pramuditā laṅkā mattadvipasamākulā । mahatī rathasaṃpūrṇā rakṣogaṇasamākulā ॥6-3-10॥
Translation
Lanka is filled with joy and delight, crowded with intoxicated elephants, vast, filled with chariots, and teeming with hordes of Rakshasas.

लंका पुरी हर्ष और आनंद से पूर्ण है, मतवाले हाथियों से भरी हुई है, विशाल है, रथों से परिपूर्ण है और राक्षसों के समूहों से व्याप्त है।
English Commentary
Hanuman paints a picture of a thriving, bustling military metropolis. The mention of 'mattadvipa' (rutting elephants) signifies immense heavy infantry power. The city is 'hrishta' (joyous), indicating high morale and economic stability, which makes it a formidable target.

हनुमान जी लंका की जीवंतता का वर्णन कर रहे हैं। वह कोई वीरान किला नहीं है, बल्कि एक समृद्ध और 'मत्तद्विप' (मदमस्त हाथियों) से भरी नगरी है। हाथी प्राचीन युद्ध के टैंक (Tanks) थे। 'हृष्टा प्रमुदिता' दर्शाता है कि नागरिक और सैनिक आत्मविश्वास से भरे हैं, वे डरे हुए नहीं हैं।
