तरसा सेतु बन्धेन सागर उच्चोषणेन वा ।
सर्वथा सुसमर्थो अस्मि सागरस्य अस्य लन्घने ॥६-३-२॥
tapasā setubandhena sāgarocchoṣaṇena vā । sarvathāpi samartho'smi sāgarasyāsya laṅghane ॥6-3-2॥
Translation
Whether by penance, by building a bridge, or by drying up the ocean, I am capable in every way of crossing this ocean.
हिंदी अनुवाद
चाहे तपस्या से, पुल (सेतु) बांधकर, या समुद्र को सुखाकर—मैं सब प्रकार से इस सागर को लांघने में समर्थ हूँ।
English Commentary
Shri Rama asserts his competence and determination. He lists three potential methods to cross the logistical barrier: spiritual power ('Tapas'), engineering ('Setubandha'), or martial wrath ('Sagarochhoshana' - drying the ocean). This declaration serves to boost the morale of the army, confirming that the Commander-in-Chief sees the obstacle as surmountable. It foreshadows the actual method (the bridge) and the alternative threat (drying it up).

श्री राम का आत्मविश्वास अब लौट आया है। वे सुग्रीव को आश्वस्त करते हैं कि साधन जो भी हो—चाहे दैवीय ('तपसा'), भौतिक ('सेतुबन्धेन'), या रौद्र ('सागरोच्छोषणेन' - अग्निबाण से समुद्र को सुखा देना)—वे सागर पार करके रहेंगे। यह संकल्प शक्ति (Determination) का प्रदर्शन है। यहाँ 'सेतु' का विकल्प पुनः दोहराया गया है, जो आगे की घटनाओं का संकेत है।
