Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
श्रूयताम् सर्वम् आख्यास्ये दुर्ग कर्म विधानतः ।
गुप्ता पुरी यथा लंका रक्षिता च यथा बलैः ॥६-३-७॥
śrūyatāṃ sarvamākhyāsye durgakarmavidhānataḥ । guptā purī yathā laṅkā rakṣitā ca yathā balaiḥ ॥6-3-7॥
Translation
Please listen, I will relate everything regarding the arrangement of the fortifications, how the city of Lanka is guarded, and how it is protected by the armies.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सुनिए, मैं दुर्ग-निर्माण की विधि के अनुसार सब कुछ बताता हूँ कि लंका पुरी किस प्रकार सुरक्षित (गुप्त) है और कैसे सेनाओं द्वारा उसकी रक्षा की जा रही है।
English Commentary
Hanuman commences his briefing. The term 'durgakarmavidhanatah' implies a technical description of the fortifications. It shows that Hanuman's reconnaissance was professional and systematic, analyzing the engineering and defensive layouts of the city.
