उपशेोषे महाबाहो मां विहाय तपस्विनीम् ।
प्रियामिव समाश्लिष्य पृथिवीं पुरुषर्षभ ॥६-३२-१६॥
upaśeoṣe mahābāho māṃ vihāya tapasvinīm |
priyāmiva samāśliṣya pṛthivīṃ puruṣarṣabha ॥6-32-16॥
Translation
'O mighty-armed one! O bull among men! Leaving me, the suffering one, behind, you are sleeping while embracing the earth as if she were your beloved.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'हे महाबाहु! हे पुरुषर्षभ! मुझ तपस्विनी को छोड़कर, तुम पृथ्वी को ही प्रियतमा की तरह आलिंगन करके सो रहे हो।'
English Commentary
Sita uses the classic imagery of a fallen warrior 'embracing the earth'. She feels abandoned (vihaya), as Shri Rama seems to have chosen the Earth (often called a king's first wife) over her. Calling him Purusharshabha (Bull among men) reinforces his masculinity and strength, now lying dormant in the dust.

युद्धभूमि में वीरगति प्राप्त योद्धा धरती पर गिरता है। सीता इसे काव्यमयी भाषा में कहती हैं कि श्री राम ने उन्हें छोड़ दिया और अब वे 'पृथ्वी' को अपनी प्रेमिका मानकर उसके साथ सो रहे हैं ('उपशेषे')। यह वीर रस और करुण रस का मिश्रण है—एक वीर की शैया धरती ही होती है, लेकिन पत्नी के लिए यह विरह की पराकाष्ठा है।
