अर्चितं सततं यत्तद्गन्धमाल्यैर्मया तव ।
इदं ते मत्प्रियं वीर धनुः काञ्चनभूषणम् ॥६-३२-१७॥
arcitaṃ satataṃ yattadgandhamālyairmayā tava |
idaṃ te matpriyaṃ vīra dhanuḥ kāñcanabhūṣaṇam ॥6-32-17॥
Translation
'O Hero! This is your gold-adorned bow, which was dear to me and which I used to constantly worship with scents and garlands.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'हे वीर! यह आपका वह सुवर्ण-भूषित धनुष है जो मुझे अति प्रिय था और जिसकी मैं गंध और मालाओं (पुष्पों) से सदा पूजा किया करती थी।'
English Commentary
Sita recognizes the golden bow. It wasn't just a weapon; it was a sacred object she worshipped (architam) with sandalwood and flowers. This reveals the martial culture where the wife respects the husband's instruments of duty. Seeing the object of her worship lying severed is symbolic of the destruction of her world and protection.
हिंदी टीका
क्षत्रिय पत्नी के लिए पति का शस्त्र पूजनीय होता है। सीता पहचानती हैं कि यह वही 'कोदंड' है जिसकी वे पूजा करती थीं ('अर्चितम्')। धनुष श्री राम की शक्ति का प्रतीक था। उसका सीता के सामने पड़ा होना श्री राम के पौरुष के अंत का सूचक है। 'मत्प्रियम्' (मुझे प्रिय) बताता है कि सीता श्री राम के क्षत्रिय धर्म से कितना प्रेम करती थीं।
