Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
कस्मान्मामपहाय त्वं गतो गतिमतां वर ।
अस्माल्लोकादमुं लोकं त्यक्त्वा मामपि दुःखिताम् ॥६-३२-२२॥
kasmānmāmapahāya tvaṃ gato gatimatāṃ vara |
asmāllokādamuṃ lokaṃ tyaktvā māmapi duḥkhitām ॥6-32-22॥
Translation
'O best among those who attain a (higher) state! Why have you gone from this world to that world, leaving me, the sorrowful one, behind/abandoned?'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'हे सद्गति प्राप्त करने वालों में श्रेष्ठ! मुझ दुखियारी को त्यागकर और इस लोक से उस (पर) लोक में जाकर, तुम मुझे यहाँ क्यों छोड़ गए?'
English Commentary
Sita addresses Shri Rama as Gatimatam vara (Best among those with a destination/spiritual goal). While he ascends to a higher plane, she feels discarded in this world of sorrow. Her repeated plea highlights the helplessness of a survivor who feels their life's purpose was tied entirely to the departed.

सीता का प्रश्न 'कस्मात्' (क्यों) अनुत्तरित है। श्री राम 'गतिमतां वर' (श्रेष्ठ गति/मोक्ष या स्वर्ग पाने वाले) हैं, लेकिन सीता को पीछे छोड़ जाना उन्हें अन्यायपूर्ण लग रहा है। पति के बिना पत्नी का अस्तित्व उस युग में अपूर्ण माना जाता था, और वन में शत्रुओं के बीच अकेले छूटना मृत्यु से भी बदतर था।
