उत्तीर्य सागरं रामः सह वानरसेनया ।
संनिविष्टः समुद्रस्य तीरमासाद्य दक्षिणम् ॥६-३३-१६॥
uttīrya sāgaraṃ rāmaḥ saha vānarasenayā |
saṃniviṣṭaḥ samudrasya tīramāsādya dakṣiṇam ॥6-33-16॥
Translation
'Having crossed the ocean with the army of monkeys, Shri Rama has reached the southern shore of the sea and encamped there.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'श्री राम वानर सेना के साथ सागर को पार करके, समुद्र के दक्षिणी तट (लंका के तट) पर पहुंचकर पड़ाव डाल चुके हैं।'
English Commentary
This is the news Sita has awaited for months. Shri Rama crossing the ocean was an impossible feat that has now been accomplished. 'Dakṣiṇaṃ tīram' (southern shore) signifies that Shri Rama is now on Lankan soil. For Sita, this is not just a ray of hope, but the sunrise itself.
हिंदी टीका
यह वह समाचार है जिसकी सीता जी महीनों से प्रतीक्षा कर रही थीं। श्री राम का समुद्र पार करना असंभव कार्य था, जो अब संभव हो चुका है। 'दक्षिणं तीरम्' (दक्षिणी तट) का अर्थ है कि श्री राम अब लंका की भूमि पर हैं। यह सीता के लिए आशा की किरण नहीं, बल्कि सूर्योदय है।
