जनन्या राक्षसेन्द्रो वै त्वन्मोक्षार्थं बृहद्वचः ।
अविद्धेन च वैदेहि मन्त्रिवृद्धेन बोधितः ॥६-३४-२०॥
jananyā rākṣasendro vai tvanmokṣārthaṃ bṛhadvacaḥ |
aviddhena ca vaidehi mantrivṛddhena bodhitaḥ ॥6-34-20॥
Translation
'O Vaidehi! The Lord of Rakshasas was indeed advised with weighty words for your release by his mother and the wise old minister Avindhya.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'हे वैदेही! राक्षसों के राजा (रावण) को उसकी माता (कैकेसी) ने और वृद्ध मंत्री अविंध्य (अविद्ध) ने तुम्हें मुक्त करने के लिए बहुत महत्त्वपूर्ण वचन (बृहद्वचः) कहे और समझाया।'
English Commentary
Crucial intelligence: Dissent in the court. Sarama reveals that Ravana's own mother and the respected elder minister Avindhya counselled him to release Sita (tvanmokshartham). This reveals that Ravana is isolated in his stubbornness, unsupported by the wisdom of his elders.
हिंदी टीका
सरमा 'इनसाइड इनफार्मेशन' देती है। रावण के घर में ही विद्रोह के स्वर हैं। उसकी माता (कैकेसी) और ज्ञानी मंत्री अविंध्य (जिसे 'अविद्ध' - दोषरहित/ज्ञानी कहा गया है) सीता की रिहाई के पक्ष में हैं। यह सीता के लिए एक बड़ी नैतिक जीत है कि शत्रु के बुजुर्ग भी उसके पक्ष में हैं।
