Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
समर्था गगनं गन्तुमपि वा त्वं रसातलम् ।
अवगच्छाम्यकर्तव्यं कर्तव्यं ते मदन्तरे ॥६-३४-६॥
samarthā gaganaṃ gantumapi vā tvaṃ rasātalam |
avagacchāmyakartavyaṃ kartavyaṃ te madantare ॥6-34-6॥
Translation
'I know/understand that you are capable of going to the sky or even to the netherworld (Rasatala). But regarding me, this (going to Shri Rama) is not what should be done; there is another task for you.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'मैं जानती हूँ (अवगच्छामि) कि तुम आकाश या रसातल में जाने में समर्थ हो। किन्तु मेरे विषय में (मदन्तरे) तुम्हें यह (श्री राम के पास जाने का) कार्य नहीं करना चाहिए, बल्कि दूसरा कार्य करना चाहिए।'
English Commentary
Sita acknowledges Sarama's powers but strategically redirects them. Instead of seeking comfort from Shri Rama (who is far), she needs immediate intelligence on the enemy nearby. It shows Sita's pragmatic mindset; she prioritizes situational awareness in Lanka over the emotional relief of sending a message to Shri Rama.

सीता व्यावहारिक हैं। वह जानती हैं कि श्री राम तक जाने में जोखिम है और उसमें समय लगेगा। वह सरमा की शक्ति को स्वीकार करती हैं, लेकिन उसकी योजना ('अकर्तव्यम्') को बदल देती हैं। सीता का 'टास्क मैनेजमेंट' यहाँ दिखता है—वह अपनी सीमित संसाधनों (सरमा) का प्रयोग सबसे तात्कालिक खतरे को समझने के लिए करना चाहती हैं।
