ऋषीणामग्निकल्पानामुद्वेगो जनितो महान् ।
तेषां प्रभावो दुर्धर्षः प्रदीप्त इव पावकः ॥६-३५-१८॥
ṛṣīṇāmagnikalpānāmudvego janito mahān |
teṣāṃ prabhāvo durdharṣaḥ pradīpta iva pāvakaḥ ॥6-35-18॥
Translation
'You have caused great agitation to the sages who are like fire. Their power is invincible, like a blazing fire.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'(तुमने) अग्नि के समान (तेजस्वी) ऋषियों को महान उद्वेग (कष्ट) पहुंचाया है। उनका प्रभाव प्रज्वलित अग्नि की तरह दुर्धर्ष (जिसे सहना कठिन हो) है।'
English Commentary
Malyavan reminds Ravana of the spiritual backlash from the sages he tormented. Describing sages as 'agnikalpānām' (fire-like) emphasizes their potency. The suffering inflicted upon them has accumulated into a 'durdharṣa' (invincible) power that acts like a blazing fire, ready to burn down Ravana's empire.

माल्यवान ऋषियों के शाप और तपस्या की शक्ति की याद दिलाता है। ऋषियों को 'अग्निकल्पानाम्' (आग के समान) कहा गया है। रावण ने उन्हें जो कष्ट दिया है, वह अब ऊर्जा बनकर रावण के विनाश का कारण बन रहा है। ब्राह्मणों और तपस्वियों का क्रोध भौतिक शस्त्रों से अधिक घातक माना जाता है।
