Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
जुह्वद्भिर्श्च विधिवद्वेदांश्चोच्चैर्धीयते ।
अभिभूय च रक्षांसि ब्रह्मघोषानुदीरयन् ॥६-३५-२०॥
juhvadbhirśca vidhivadvedāṃścoc cairdhīyate |
abhibhūya ca rakṣāṃsi brahmaghoṣānudīrayan ॥6-35-20॥
Translation
'They offer oblations according to rituals and chant the Vedas loudly. Overpowering the Rakshasas, they utter the sound of the Vedas (Brahmaghosa).'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'वे विधिपूर्वक हवन करते हैं और उच्च स्वर में वेदों का पाठ करते हैं। राक्षसों को दबाकर (तिरस्कृत करके) वे ब्रह्मघोष (वेद ध्वनि) का उच्चारण करते हैं।'
English Commentary
The 'Brahmaghosa' (chanting of Vedas) is overpowering the presence of Rakshasas. The fact that they chant 'uccaiḥ' (loudly) signifies that the reign of terror is crumbling; the sages are no longer afraid, asserting their spiritual dominance even before the physical war concludes.

राक्षसों के कोलाहल पर ऋषियों का 'ब्रह्मघोष' भारी पड़ रहा है। 'उच्चैर्धीयते' (जोर से पाठ करना) यह दर्शाता है कि ऋषियों का भय समाप्त हो गया है और वे अब खुलकर धर्म का प्रचार कर रहे हैं। यह रावण के पतन की शुरुआत है जब उसके शत्रु उसके ही क्षेत्र में निडर हो जाएं।
