YUDDHA KANDA•SARGA: 35•SHLOKA: 22
आदत्ते रक्षसां तेजो धूमो व्याप्य दिशो दश ।
तेषु तेषु च देशेषु पुण्येष्वेव दृढव्रतैः ॥६-३५-२२॥
ādatte rakṣasāṃ tejo dhūmo vyāpya diśo daśa |
teṣu teṣu ca deśeṣu puṇyeṣveva dṛḍhavrataiḥ ॥6-35-22॥
Translation
'Pervading the ten directions, that smoke takes away the splendor/energy of the Rakshasas. And in those various holy regions, by the firm-vowed sages...'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'दसों दिशाओं में व्याप्त होकर वह धुआं राक्षसों के तेज को हर लेता है। और उन-उन पवित्र देशों में दृढ़ व्रत वाले (ऋषियों द्वारा)...'
English Commentary
This describes spiritual warfare. The sacrificial smoke is not merely physical; it 'ādatte' (appropriates/steals) the 'tejas' (vital energy) of the Rakshasas. Adharma naturally loses its potency when encompassed by the pervasive presence of Dharma.

यह एक आध्यात्मिक युद्ध का वर्णन है। यज्ञ का धुआं केवल भौतिक धुआं नहीं है, वह राक्षसों के 'तेज' (शक्ति/आभा) को 'आदत्ते' ( छीन लेता है)। अधर्म, धर्म के संपर्क में आते ही अपनी शक्ति खो देता है।
