चिन्तयन् मनसा तस्य दुष्कर्मपरिपाकजम् ।
पापं नाशयति ह्येनं स्वस्य राष्ट्रस्य राक्षसैः ॥६-३६-१५॥
cintayan manasā tasya duṣkarmaparipākajam |
pāpaṃ nāśayati hyenaṃ svasya rāṣṭrasya rākṣasaiḥ ॥6-36-15॥
Translation
Thinking in his mind that this is born of the ripening of his bad deeds, and that sin is indeed destroying him along with his kingdom and the Rakshasas.

उसने मन ही मन विचार किया कि यह रावण के दुष्कर्मों का ही फल (परिपाक) है, जो अब पाप बनकर इसे, इसके राष्ट्र को और राक्षसों को नष्ट कर रहा है।
English Commentary
Malyavan offers a karmic diagnosis. He sees the situation as the paripaka (ripening/fruition) of Ravana's dushkarma (bad deeds). He understands that this systemic sin will consume not just the individual, but the entire state (rashtra) and the race. It serves as a warning about the contagious nature of adharma in leadership.

माल्यवान ने स्थिति का आध्यात्मिक निदान किया। यह 'दुष्कर्म-परिपाकजम्' (बुरे कर्मों के फलने का समय) है। पाप अब इतना बढ़ गया है कि वह केवल रावण को नहीं, बल्कि 'राष्ट्र' और पूरी 'राक्षस' जाति को ले डूबेगा। यह सामूहिक कर्म (Collective Karma) का सिद्धांत है जहाँ राजा के पाप प्रजा को भोगने पड़ते हैं।
