जयाशिषा च राजानं वर्धयित्वा यथोचितम् ।
माल्यवानभ्यनुज्ञातो जगाम स्वं निवेशनम् ॥६-३६-१६॥
jayāśiṣā ca rājānaṃ vardhayitvā yathocitam |
mālyavānabhyanujñāto jagāma svaṃ niveśanam ॥6-36-16॥
Translation
Having hailed the King with blessings of victory as per protocol, Malyavan, having been permitted, went to his own residence.
हिंदी अनुवाद
यथोचित रूप से 'जय हो' के आशीर्वाद से राजा का अभिनंदन करके, माल्यवान (रावण की) अनुमति लेकर अपने भवन को चले गए।
English Commentary
Despite the rejection, Malyavan adheres to court etiquette (yathochitam). He blesses Ravana with victory—perhaps hoping against hope, or simply following form. His departure marks the exit of wisdom from Ravana's court, leaving the King surrounded only by enablers and warriors.

अपमानित होने और असहमत होने के बाद भी, माल्यवान शिष्टाचार नहीं भूलते। वे 'जयाशिषा' (विजय के आशीर्वाद) के साथ विदा लेते हैं। यह एक अनुभवी दरबारी की परिपक्वता है। वे जानते हैं कि यह अंतिम विदाई हो सकती है, इसलिए वे प्रोटोकॉल का पालन करते हुए सम्मानपूर्वक हट जाते हैं।
