इन्द्रजित्पश्चिमद्वारं राक्षसैर्बहुभिर्वृतः ।
पट्टसासिधनुष्मद्भिः शूलमुद्गरपाणिभिः ॥६-३७-११॥
indrajitpaścimadvāraṃ rākṣasairbahubhirvṛtaḥ |
paṭṭasāsidhanuṣmadbhiḥ śūlamudgarapāṇibhiḥ ॥6-37-11॥
Translation
Indrajit is stationed at the western gate, surrounded by many Rakshasas armed with sharp spears, swords, bows, tridents, and maces.

पश्चिम द्वार पर इन्द्रजित बहुत से राक्षसों के साथ तैनात है, जो पट्टिस, तलवार, धनुष, शूल और मुदगर धारण किए हुए हैं।
English Commentary
Indrajit, the conqueror of Indra and the most skilled illusionist warrior of Lanka, is placed at the Western gate. The variety of weapons mentioned—swords, tridents, and maces—highlights the technological and martial advantage the Rakshasa army possessed. This placement shows that Ravana entrusted his most capable warrior with a critical flank of the city.

इन्द्रजित रावण की सेना का सबसे भयानक योद्धा है। उसे पश्चिम द्वार पर तैनात करना रावण की उस द्वार के प्रति सुरक्षा की चिंता को दर्शाता है। उसके साथ जो सेना है, वह विविध प्रकार के अस्त्र-शस्त्रों से सुसज्जित है। पट्टिस और मुदगर जैसे भारी हथियारों का उल्लेख वानर सेना के लिए एक बड़ी चुनौती की ओर संकेत करता है, जो मुख्य रूप से पत्थरों और वृक्षों से युद्ध करते थे।
