रावणावरजं श्रीमान् रामप्रियचिकीर्षया ।
कुबेरं तु यदा राम रावणः प्रत्ययुध्यत ॥६-३७-२१॥
rāvaṇāvarajaṃ śrīmān rāmapriyacikīrṣayā |
kuberaṃ tu yadā rāma rāvaṇaḥ pratyayudhyata ॥6-37-21॥
Translation
With a desire to do what is pleasing to Shri Rama, the younger brother of Ravana (Vibhishana) continued: O Shri Rama, when Ravana fought against Kubera—

श्री राम का प्रिय करने की इच्छा से, रावण के अनुज (विभीषण) ने आगे कहा—हे श्री राम! जब रावण ने कुबेर के विरुद्ध युद्ध किया था—
English Commentary
Vibhishana’s motivation is purely to serve and please Shri Rama. By recalling Ravana's past victory over Kubera, the god of wealth, he is illustrating the formidable nature of the adversary. This historical context helps the alliance understand the level of power Ravana wields and the magnitude of his previous conquests.

विभीषण का प्रत्येक कार्य 'रामप्रियचिकीर्षया' (श्री राम का प्रिय करने की इच्छा) से प्रेरित है। यह अनन्य भक्ति का शिखर है। वे रावण के उस इतिहास को याद कर रहे हैं जब उसने अपने ही भाई कुबेर को पराजित किया था। यह सूचना रावण के अहंकार और उसकी युद्ध-क्षमता दोनों का आकलन करने के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है।
