विप्रकारप्रियः क्षुद्रो वरदानबलान्वितः ।
परिक्रामति यः सर्वांल्लोकान् संतापयन् प्रजाः ॥६-३७-३०॥
viprakārapriyaḥ kṣudro varadānabalānvitaḥ |
parikrāmati yaḥ sarvāँllokān saṃtāpayan prajāḥ ॥6-37-30॥
Translation
Is fond of causing injury, who is mean, and who, endowed with the strength of boons, wanders through all the worlds tormenting the subjects—

के विरुद्ध अपराध करने में रुचि रखने वाला, नीच, और वरदान की शक्ति से युक्त होकर जो सभी लोकों में प्रजा को संताप देते हुए घूमता है—
English Commentary
This verse highlights Ravana's predatory nature. Despite his vast knowledge, he is described as 'Kshudra' (base/mean) because he uses his hard-earned boons to cause suffering ('Santapayan'). It justifies the upcoming war as a divine intervention to protect the innocent and restore the balance of power that Ravana had disrupted through his tyranny.

रावण के चरित्र का यहाँ चित्रण है। उसे 'विप्रकारप्रिय' (बुराई में रुचि रखने वाला) और 'क्षुद्र' (नीच) कहा गया है। वरदानों के अहंकार में चूर होकर वह निर्दोषों को कष्ट देता है। यह श्लोक स्पष्ट करता है कि श्री राम का उद्देश्य कोई व्यक्तिगत प्रतिशोध नहीं, बल्कि विश्व को एक आततायी के संताप से मुक्त करना है। 'प्रजा संतापन' ही उसके विनाश का मुख्य कारण बनता है।
