तस्याहं राक्षसेन्द्रस्य स्वयमेव वधे धृतः ।
उत्तरं नगरद्वारमहं सौमित्रिणा सह ॥६-३७-३१॥
tasyāhaṃ rākṣasendrasya svayameva vadhe dhṛtaḥ |
uttaraṃ nagaradvāramahaṃ saumitriṇā saha ॥6-37-31॥
Translation
I myself am determined to slay that king of Rakshasas. I, along with Lakshmana (the son of Sumitra), shall remain at the northern gate—
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस राक्षसराज के वध के लिए मैं स्वयं दृढ संकल्पित हूँ। मैं सुमित्रानन्दन लक्ष्मण के साथ उत्तर द्वार पर रहूँगा—
English Commentary
Shri Rama chooses to personally lead the assault on the northern gate, where Ravana is stationed. This reflects the quality of a true leader who takes on the greatest challenge himself. By standing with Lakshmana, He forms an invincible duo. His firm resolve ('Vadne Dhritah') signals the beginning of the end for the Rakshasa king.
हिंदी टीका
श्री राम ने सबसे कठिन और महत्वपूर्ण मोर्चा स्वयं लिया है। रावण उत्तर द्वार पर है, इसलिए श्री राम ने भी वहीं जाने का निर्णय लिया। एक आदर्श सेनापति स्वयं सबसे बड़े खतरे का सामना करता है। श्री लक्ष्मण का उनके साथ होना उनके अटूट साथ और शक्ति का प्रतीक है। 'वधे धृतः' शब्द उनके अटल निश्चय को प्रकट करते हैं कि अब रावण का अंत निश्चित है।
