राक्षसेन्द्रानुजश्चैव गुल्मे भवतु मध्यमे ।
न चैव मानुषं रूपं कार्यं हरिभिराहवे ॥६-३७-३३॥
rākṣasendrānujaścaiva gulme bhavatu madhyame |
na caiva mānuṣaṃ rūpaṃ kāryaṃ haribhirāhave ॥6-37-33॥
Translation
And let the younger brother of the Rakshasa king (Vibhishana) stay in the middle garrison. Furthermore, the monkeys should not assume human forms during the battle.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तथा राक्षसराज का अनुज (विभीषण) मध्य सेना (रिजर्व फोर्स) में रहें। युद्ध के समय वानरों को मनुष्य का रूप धारण नहीं करना चाहिए।
English Commentary
Shri Rama assigns Vibhishana to the central garrison, a position of both safety and strategic importance. Crucially, He orders the Vanaras to maintain their original forms. This 'identification protocol' was essential to prevent friendly fire and confusion, as the Rakshasas were notorious for their shape-shifting ('Kamarupa') abilities used to deceive enemies on the battlefield.

विभीषण को मध्य भाग में रखने का निर्णय उनकी सुरक्षा और उनकी रणनीतिक सलाह की निरंतर उपलब्धता के लिए लिया गया है। श्री राम का एक अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण निर्देश यह है कि वानर अपना मूल रूप न छोड़ें। यह युद्धनीति का एक अनिवार्य हिस्सा था ताकि अपनी ही सेना के बीच पहचान बनी रहे, क्योंकि राक्षस कपटपूर्वक किसी भी रूप में आ सकते थे।
